Named after Dick Bertram's wife, the original 25-foot Moppie was the boat that won the 1960 Miami-to-Nassau race and convinced the world that Ray Hunt's deep-V hull was the future. Everything classic Bertram is descended from this boat.
Small, fast, and aggressively rough-water-capable for its size, the 25 Moppie was built in small numbers and is rarely seen for sale today. When one surfaces it tends to go quickly — and to a collector who already knows exactly what they're looking at.
For purists, the Moppie is the foundational Bertram. Anything else in the lineup is a refinement of what this boat got right first.
